ISC President: Iran's Scientific Growth Increasing at High Speed despite Sanctions
The president of Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Mohammad Javad Dehgani announced that Iran is ascending on the steps of scientific growth at a high speed despite being pressured by sanctions.

"Despite international sanctions which have considerably decreased participation of the Iranian professors and researchers in creditable international conferences, the speedy production of science in the country has not slowed down and members of the scientific boards in Iran have published more documents in the best international scientific journals," Dehgani said.

He also said that based on the information released in Scopus website (the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature), Iran has produced 1.5% of the world''s science in 2011-2014, adding that the country''s share of science production since the start of 2015 has been 1.7%.

Dehgani expressed confidence that if the current trend continues, Iran would witness a more fruitful year in the production of science.

Iran has taken wide strides in science and technology, particularly in medical and medicinal fields, in recent years.
